HL 7: Detailed Directions
HL7 KidsFOR COMPLETE TREATMENT USING HL 7, YOU WILL NEED:
  • HL 7 Shampoo
  • HL 7 Natural Conditioner
  • HL 7 Head Lice Comb
  1. DO NOT treat hair under shower or in the bath. Do it over basin or sink.
  2. DO NOT WET HAIR FIRST. (This is because lice have the ability to shut down their breathing holes for around 30 minutes after contact with water). If you have accidentally wet hair first, dry the hair, then wait 30 minutes before starting again.
  3. Pre-mix 10-20mL of HL 7 Shampoo (depending on length of hair) with an equal quantity of warm water together in a container (water at room temperature is best). If using medicine measures sterilise them after use. For people with sensitive skin use 10-20mL of HL 7 Shampoo with 15-30mL of HL 7 Natural Conditioner instead of water. For short hair use 10mL of HL 7 Shampoo and pre-mix as above, or for long hair use 20mL of HL 7 Shampoo and 20mL of water.
  4. Slowly pour the HL 7 Shampoo pre-mixed solution onto DRY HAIR starting at the top of the head. If required you can add a small amount of extra water to help spread the shampoo through the hair.
  5. Massage well into hair close to the scalp, around the entire hair line, especially around the neck and the ears, then through the rest of the hair. Leave in hair for 20minutes.
  6. Rinse hair out with slightly warm water. Keep eyes and mouth closed whilst rinsing. To avoid rinse water running onto face, make sure water flows away from the face. If rinsing with head tilted back, you may try using a dry towel around the neck, below the hair line and one over the face.
  7. Towel dry hair till slightly damp, but not completely dry.

  8. Massage 30-60mL of HL 7 Natural Conditioner into hair.
  9. Remove knots by combing HL 7 Natural Conditioner through with an ordinary comb. Leave for 15 minutes before using the HL 7 Lice Comb.
  10. Separate the hair into 2cm sections. Use the HL 7 Lice Comb, to comb slowly through the hair. Choose the side that most suits your hair type. Start close to the scalp, working through to the ends.
  11. Wipe the HL 7 Lice Comb onto a tissue looking for lice and nits then comb through the next separated section.
  12. Continue to remove all lice and nits with the HL 7 Lice Comb ensuring total lice removal.
  13. Rinse out the HL 7 Natural Conditioner with slightly warm water.
  14. Towel dry hair. DO NOT USE ARTIFICIAL HEAT eg. hair dryer.
  15. Check hair with magnifying glass, especially close to the scalp. Re-check every 2 days and repeat steps above if necessary. Remember to check all family members.
HL7 Conditioner Directions 
We recommend that once you have completed the first treatment and removed head lice, you continue to use HL 7 Natural Conditioner every time you wash the hair. HL 7 Natural Conditioner can be used on its own as a preventative, every second day during an outbreak. This will help prevent a re-infestation from other sources.
